Oscar, Everglades National Park, Florida- click to see full size image
This is an Oscar, a non-native invasive species of tropical fish. It was introduced to the Everglades when people who no longer wanted them as pets dumped them into the sloughs. Unfortunately they thrived, and are damaging the local ecosystem by eating local native species. Taken at the Shark Valley Visitor Center viewing deck.
